The Museums Tea Room will be transformed into a hidden speakeasy for the evening for a night of fine food, flowing wine and vintage charm. Slip into the past, sip on something special and let the warm glow of the evening transport you to a time when secrets where shared over a glass of wine.
Leading up to the Lantern Festival we are holding two Lantern Making Workshops.
20th July 2025

These workshops, guide participants in creating their own lanterns to be displayed during the evening events. The workshops are open to all ages and skill levels, making it a fantastic opportunity for families and children to get involved in the festivities.
Involvement with Local Schools:
As part of the museum's ongoing commitment to community engagement, local schools are actively involved in the lantern-making process. Students will have the chance to learn about the historical significance of lanterns, as well as the craft of making them, bringing their creations to life during the Twilight Openings.
This initiative not only enhances the event but also fosters a deeper connection between the museum and the local youth.
