Jindera Lantern Parade

Jindera Lantern Festival: A Twilight Experience

A magical evening where the community of Jindera illuminates the night with a walk down the mainstreet from the Village Green to the Museum. Family friendly event with food and refreshments available. Held annually in August, the Jindera Lantern Parade is a family friendly event that includes food and refreshments with the Team Room being transformed into a wine bar in the evening.

  • Time:  Early evening to dark (exact times vary)

Lantern Making Workshops:

In preparation for the Twilight Openings, the museum hosts Lantern Making Workshops These workshops, guide participants in creating their own lanterns to be displayed during the evening events. The workshops are open to all ages and skill levels, making it a fantastic opportunity for families and children to get involved in the festivities.

Involvement with Local Schools:

As part of the museum's ongoing commitment to community engagement, local schools are actively involved in the lantern-making process. Students will have the chance to learn about the historical significance of lanterns, as well as the craft of making them, bringing their creations to life during the Twilight Openings.

 

This initiative not only enhances the event but also fosters a deeper connection between the museum and the local youth.
