A Delightful Experience Every Sunday.
Tea Room Opening Times
Every Sunday and on selected public holidays
October - April: 11:00am - 4:00pm
May - September: 11:00am - 3:00pm
All proceeds from the tea room go towards supporting the Museum, which is volunteer run.
The Tea Room is housed in the original store, established in 1874 by Julius Hermann Rosler and his son-in-law, Peter Christian (PC) Wagner.
Step into this charming space and be transported back in time. The original counter, fireplace, and well-worn floorboards tell stories of the past, while the ceiling, lined with boards repurposed from packing crates, adds to the unique character. Keep an eye out for the handwritten pencil notes left by the shopkeeper on the door jambs leading to the residence, one of many delightful details that bring the building’s history to life.
The Tea Room offers seated service from our friendly volunteers, who serve up delicious homemade cooking straight to your table. Choose from a lovely selection of teas and freshly brewed coffee, paired with a variety of sweet and savoury treats made with care. Don’t miss our much-loved Devonshire Tea, featuring warm scones, homemade cakes, and slices.
You’re welcome to enjoy your refreshments in the cosy tea room or take in the serenity of our peaceful garden setting. Whether you're planning a relaxing Sunday outing or treating yourself on a public holiday, we look forward to welcoming you!
