The Jindera Pioneer Museum lined up against nine other finalists for the Outstanding Community Organisation at the Riverina Murray Business Awards - AND WON!!!

Tamara Klein and Martin and Dianne Kalina travelled to Griffith to attend the awards, perhaps not quite expecting they'd be on the podium by the end of the night!

"It was a big surprise for us to win, but in reality not unexpected given all the hard work, passion and dedication that the 50 active volunteers always put in," said committee member Vanessa Hayden.

"This is a great accolade and recognises the effort of all those people and also how much the museum has grown in the past few years. There is always something going on here!

"It's a great feather in our cap and we hope that it will also help along the development of the new building as we are still looking for businesses to partner with us on this exciting project."

The museum was a finalist in the Business NSW State Awards on October 29 and the winner of the category was The Community Transport Company from the north coast of NSW.
