The Jindera Pioneer Museum presents the inaugural amateur photography competition: Jindera Pioneer Museum – Reimagined
Use your imagination and creativity to photograph the Jindera Pioneer Museum.
The competition closes at midnight on Sunday 16th September 2018. Any entry received after that date will be invalid.
Winners will be announced 4pmSunday 30th September following the 150th Celebrations at the School of Arts hall.
Entries will be on display in the School of Arts hall on the 29th and 30th September.
Entrants under 18 years of age must have the consent of their parent or guardian to enter.
A prize will be awarded for each of the following sections:
Open (any age) – $300 courtesy of the Jindera Pioneer Museum
Youth (13-18 years) – a printing voucher to the value of $60 and $30, courtesy of Camera House, Albury
Junior (12 years and under) –a Camera House voucher, courtesy of Jindera 150th Committee
People’s Choice – a printing voucher to the value of $60, courtesy of Camera House, Albury
An official entry form must be completed for each image submitted, up to a total of three (3) images per entrant. The same image cannot be entered in more than one category.
An entry fee of $10.00 per image will apply to the Open Section.
An entry fee of $5.00 per image will apply to the Youth and the Junior Sections.
Entrants in the Youth Section must be between the ages of 13 and 18 years at the time of entry.
Entrants in the Junior Section must be 12 years or under at the time of entry.
Finalists are asked to send a print-quality image file in jpg format (300dpi @ 30cm on the longest edge) no bigger than 15MB. Minor image adjustments (Photoshop, Lightroom, or similar) are allowed.
All entries must be photographed at the Jindera Pioneer Museum.
Entries will be assessed by judges appointed by the Jindera Pioneer Museum. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The judges reserve the right not to exhibit any work if the work is not in their opinion of sufficient artistic merit, technical and formal resolution.
Each image must be the photographic work of the entrant and not previously exhibited.
Entrants may submit an artist’s statement (120 words maximum) and/or an artist’s curriculum vitae. The artist statement may be used to promote the competition on social media or through the press.
The entrant will retain ownership of the copyright of their image(s).
By submitting a photograph for the competition, each entrant grants the Jindera Pioneer Museum the use of that image (in print, social media and online), for the purposes of advertising, promotion, education and merchandise, without any payment being due to the entrant. The images may be exhibited or reproduced in any medium.
The Jindera Pioneer Museum will attribute the image to the entrant.
