Creating Our Future

Over fifty years ago two women saw the potential of the old Wagner’s Store in the main street of Jindera to become a museum...

Like their forebears, who came to an unknown land, they saw an opportunity that could be developed to enhance the township of Jindera and would preserve their vital history for future generations.  These two women encouraged 17 families to join together to purchase the land and buildings which became the Jindera Pioneer Museum.

Making history..

For the museum to remain viable, we need to develop new exhibits and spaces that can attract an ever-changing audience.  Funding for this type of development is limited and so we are looking for contributions to help us in this new phase of museum growth.

A new building that will house the Cottage Crafts, a museum shop, our new period costume photography studio and a ‘hands-on’ space where students can actually use some of the items that we have on display in the museum, plus an undercover area in the entrance space where students can leave their bags while visiting the museum, are our next projects.

To date the museum has won several awards for its excellence and the collection in houses is considered highly significant; derived mostly from families and properties in this area.  The new exhibits and facilities will build on the great work this community has already achieved.

How you can help? Donating is easy..

Donations (big or small) to help the museum develop can be deposited directly into the account shown below using your surname as the reference.

Email accounts@jinderamuseum.com.au with your deposit details so we can send you a tax receipt.

Donations are tax deductible*

If you would like to be a regular gift donor to the museum, you could easily set up a direct deposit via your online banking on a fortnightly or monthly basis.  The museum would then issue you a receipt at the end of the financial year for your taxation purposes.

Considering a Bequest? For further information on leaving a gift as part of your Will please fill out the below form to request a call back.

The Jindera Pioneer Museum community would also like to remember and honour those who have been involved in the museum or the Jindera township over the past years.  The museum intends to establish an honour board for donations of $5000 or more and we see this as an everlasting way for individuals’ contributions to the town or museum to be remembered and honoured. Generations to come will be able to see this honour board and recognise a family member remembered in this way.

The details below are for the new account that has been created for donations specific to this capital development;

Jindera Museum

BSB: 640 000

Account No: 111288722

We hope you will consider supporting the museum in this way so that it can remain the asset to our heritage that was the foresight of those first two women.
